With the overall feeling across the world right now understandably one of negativity and businesses of all shapes and sizes feeling the squeeze, we think it’s important to look for positives wherever you can.
We’ve no doubt you’re all desperate to be running classes right now. The strain this is causing on you, your customers, and, ultimately, CAP2 as a partner, is significant. A key positive to grab hold of is your new-found time to invest in those behind-the-scenes jobs you never quite had the bandwidth to do whilst your doors were open.
Let’s use the next however many weeks to our advantage; to ensure we are in an even better position when it comes to reopening, than we were before this horrible situation was even a thought in our minds.
Here are some important exercises you could be completing over the coming weeks to optimise your business for a successful return:
1. Data Analysis
Often overlooked when you are busy running the day-to-day, taking the time to review performance reports is invaluable to the success of your business. With CoursePro you can run more than 30 different reports, depending on what you want to know, in just a matter of clicks.
We’d highly recommend looking at the following reports, showing data for at least the past 6 months.
- Overview – important high-level stats about your business’ monthly performance
- Occupancy – view of your busy/quiet levels and times. See any potential gaps in your programme where you can consolidate classes and make space for new ones
- Attendance – who are your frequent absentees? Reach out to them and ensure they see the value in your classes, to keep them coming back for longer
Invest time into this now and you could find some golden nuggets of insight which change the way you deliver your courses for the better when members return!
2. Set Up Your Own Badges
Everybody loves a pat on the back, children especially thrive when they are rewarded for their efforts. If you haven’t done so already, you need to set up your own special badges in CoursePro!
Some great examples we have seen are having a ‘Student of the Week’ and ‘Most Improved’ badge for the term.
3. New Payment Options
As much as it pains us to say it, unemployment rates could be significantly higher come the end of the pandemic. To help those parents finding themselves with restricted finances due to job losses keep their children in your classes, could you cost out and set up some new pricing options specifically for people not in work?
Alternatively, you may need to increase your pricing in order to help your cash flow.
It really is horses-for-courses. You’ll need to sit down and work out the best course of action for you.
4. Refresh Your Contact Triggers
When was the last time you tweaked the wording of one of your contact triggers?
They may all be in great shape, but it is worth a review to check tone of voice is still on-brand and any information contained in them is accurate and up to date.
5. Online Bookings
When you are given the green light to re-open, online bookings are going to be integral to making the onboarding process a positive, speedy experience for both you and your customers.
CoursePro’s online bookings module allows customers to book and pay for sessions and courses online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Like HomePortal, your online bookings site can be decked out in your company colours too.
6. Familiarise Yourself with Your Waiting Lists
Another one that pains us to say. With the potential for some members not returning immediately to lessons upon your reopening, now would be a great time to remind yourself who is sat on waiting lists. You can then start planning a campaign of outreach to them about the prospect of places becoming available in the summer.
7. Grab Attention with a New Look
A great way to come back with a bang would be a rebranded HomePortal site!
With the clocks resetting and a multitude of providers vying for the same group of customers, first impressions count. A shiny new look could make all the difference in getting someone to take that first step to booking a course with you.
8. Personal Development
We bet the last thing on your list is always looking after yourself? It really shouldn’t be, because you are the single biggest asset to your business; you really are.
Use this time to find some online courses which will help you develop, whether that is honing your management skills, learning some new marketing techniques, or something more specific to your line of coaching.
